Hazards associated with this work include: Material Handling Cryogenic /ODH Pressure Systems Radiation (both non-ionizing and ionizing) No beam related hazards LCLS-II CM testing in the LERF presents no unique safety related issues and is expected to have minimal to no impact on facility safety procedures Operational directives for this type of work in the LERF are established LERF Review – August 3, 2017

LERF Operations Directives LRF-AD Revision 1 Defines (among other things) How to operate the LERF safely and within established limits Safety responsibilities of control room staff Role of various JLab safety organizations Safety staff include Area radiation monitors Safety system operator ESH&Q staff members LERF Review – August 3, 2017

4 LERF and LCLS-II Integrated Safety Management (ISM) applies for all JLab work Standard safety observation practices (STOP observations) will be used while installation and commissioning work is underway LERF Review – August 3, 2017

5 LERF and LCLS-II CM Testing procedures will be developed that are specific to the LERF testing A safety peer review will be conducted prior to commencement of work Safety concerns associated with CM Testing in the LERF are understood and are addressed appropriately LERF Review – August 3, 2017
