Let’s take a minute to compare two lesson stages: practice and apply. 
Note to Trainer: 
If participants need help, give them examples of a practice activity and an apply activity. 
A practice activity might involve students holding up the sentence frames “I don’t have to” or “I have to” as the teacher reads a list of chores; i.e. “...do the dishes.” 
An apply activity might involve students asking each other questions about what items they have at home that can be recycled. 
Have participants do the activity on the screen. Call on participants to categorize each item.
