3. Visual Acuity Test for sharpness of vision Uses a Snellen eye chart
Normal is 20/20
The numerator (top #) is the distance at which the person performing the test can see
The denominator (bottom #) is the distance at which the average person can see the same line.

4. Astigmatism Test Test for irregular shaped cornea or lens
Uses an astigmatism chart
Look at center of chart
If some lines appear blurred you have an astigmatism

5. Color-Blindness Test for nonfunctioning cones
Generally involves picking colors or numbers out of a complex colored picture
What number do you see?

6. Blind-Spot Mapping Everyone has a blind-spot
Is the part of the eye where the optic disc is located.
Test for diseases of the retina that can cause photoreceptors to stop working and enlarge or create additional blind spots.
