27 First Chunk The constitutional term limits for president set by the 22nd amendment does violate the concept of democracy by definition, however it is a necessity to prevent tyranny. In paragraph two of “Interview with former President Clinton Transcripts and Write Up” Bill Clinton states, “Doesn’t it make sense for the country to say OK, let a guy serve for eight years, then they can take a term or two off. But then if they have something to give back to America in terms of leadership, give them that opportunity.” Based on the evidence we must conclude that Bill Clinton’s idea is democratic because presidents have the opportunity to run for more than two terms.
