4 Volunteer Training Parents must complete Creek View’s Volunteer Training before helping in the classroom Volunteer Training is now available online through Fulton County Schools website.

6 Homework Should take approximately 20 minutes ELA = 4 nights per week
Math/Science/SS = 3 nights per week

10 Student Progress REPORT CARDS are sent out every nine weeks.
There will be three Progress Reports sent home during the school year.

11 Grade Weights 40% Tests 30%  Quizzes 25% Classwork 5% Homework

12 Grades Parent Access Center (get tonight through front office)
Graded Paper Folders (Purple) come home every other Friday with Friday Folders

Students start out “ready to learn” each day. They have chances to move their clips up and down based on behavior. Small Group System Table tallies given Promotes working cooperatively Whole Group System Marbles given for walking appropriately in hallways Class vote on incentives Individual* Brag Tags Positive Incentive Necklaces, we are hoping to start this ASAP (thank you those who have been furiously cutting) 

14 Math We will be following the Math Georgia Standards of Excellence (Georgiastandards.org) Students are expected to not only learn math concepts but be able to apply them to new situations and use the skills in order to solve problems. Students are expected to know their math facts from memory by the end of the year. This is huge! We will be stressing this this year! Please practice at home with your student!

18 Creek View Science Lab Second graders will visit the Science Lab 3 times this year. Dates and topics TBA. Volunteer Opportunities: Room Mom’s: Mrs. Laserna & Mrs. Mosera  Visit the Science Lab on your way out tonight!

Launch of new website ( 2 Fundraisers: Fall Annual Giving Fund & Basket Raffle Financial Support – over $24,000 budgeted to support Grade level projects & Departments to benefit all students Volunteers – support CVES activities (Science Lab & more) Spirit Wear – T-shirts, PJs, Hoodies, Dry-Fit Shirts, Tumblers Community events – Screen on the Green (Sept. 30th), Cheetah Challenge (Dec. 3rd), Books and Bingo (Jan. 20th), Basket Raffle (March 24th) Register your profile online & Join the PTA. Memberships start at $10.

20 Think First, Stay Safe TFSS is a research-based program that will help ensure the personal safety of children through increased awareness, education, advocacy and action. Lessons are presented during your child’s guidance time with Mrs. Emerson. K, 1st, and 2nd grade lessons will be in the spring Contact Chris Emerson regarding any questions. All students will participate unless as a parent you choose to opt out of the lesson (orange form).
