2 Field School Mission The mission of Field School is to educate inspire and prepare all students so that they become lifelong learners and successful, purposeful citizens.

5% increase in students overall meeting or exceeding state standards in reading and math. 8% increase in students meeting or exceeding standards in reading and math for MPS’ lowest-performing students. (At Field, our lowest performing group is our African American students.)

13 Student Achievement: Reading and Math Strategies
In addition to AVID Strategies, all teachers will focus on giving Wise Academic Feedback to students to advance learning. Feedback to students can have a powerful influence on their learning. Hattie and Timperley (2007) analyze how the type of feedback and the way it is delivered can have differential effects. “It is closing the gap between where students are and where they are aiming to be that leads to the power of feedback.” (p.90) Wise Feedback is: Positive, Specific, given with High Expectations and Assurance

15 Field School Climate Goal and Strategies
Goal: Decrease the disproportional numbers of referrals and suspensions, increase engagement and decrease the disproportion in achievement between students of color and white students. Staff will receive PD and implement Restorative Practices Field will continue to collaborate with OBMSA (Office of Black Male Student Achievement) with PD on Unconscious Bias and Trauma and the Black Child Body.

16 Student Progress To monitor student learning, we use state assessments, formative assessments and other ways to gather information to plan programs and supports for our students. These are the ways we share this information with you about your student throughout the year: 1. Parent Portal – updated every two weeks 2. Midterm reports and report cards 3. /phone calls

18 Opportunities for Family Involvement
Provide input in the development of the School Improvement Plan and Family Involvement Plan Participate in Site Council and PTA Attend school events Visit your child’s classroom or volunteer at your child’s school Talk to your child’s teacher about events and issues which may affect your child’s work or behavior
