3. Definitions Gender – refers to an individual’s anatomical sex
Gender Identity – an individual’s personal sense of maleness or femaleness
Gender Role – Outward expression of gender identity according to cultural and social expectations
Sex Role – anatomically limited to one gender (i.e. gestating and giving birth being limited to females)

4. Sexual Orientation – refers to a person’s attraction to members of the same sex (homosexual) other sexes (heterosexual) or both sexes (bisexual)
All of these –
gender, sexual assignment, gender identity, gender role, sex role, and sexual orientation – for an individual’s sexual identity.
