Cyber Stalking By Matthew Hall

What is cyber stalking? According to techarget.com, it is defined as a crime in which the attacker harasses a victim using electronic communication. Some ways cyber stalkers try to communicate with you is through Facebook, online chat rooms, instant messaging, or email. Cyber Stalkers will constantly harass you and may try to find out your personal information.

What the law defines it as From http://apps.leg.wa.gov/rcw A person is guilty of cyber stalking if he or she, with intent to harass, intimidate, torment, or embarrass any other person, and under circumstances not constituting telephone harassment, makes an electronic communication to such other person.

It could become much worse.. Cyber Stalkers may try to find out your telephone number or your address, and then may start to personally stalk you, instead of just over the internet. When and if this happens, it is very important that you contact the police, and do everything you can to make it stop.
5
What can you do about it? The only method to completely avoid cyber stalkers is to stay offline; however, for most of us this is not possible. So here is a few tips to help you out.
6
Just a few tips If you believe someone is stalking you, save all of the messages that they may have sent you. Block or delete them from all of your online accounts if possible. Tell a trusted adult or the police. Do not communicate with them in anyway.
7
Last but not least.. Always remember to never give out your personal information to anyone. Tell an adult if you think you are being stalked. And be aware that everything you say or post online can be seen and accessed at anytime by almost everyone.
