policy of building up strong military forces to prepare for war With European nations having colonies throughout the world, they needed more weapons and technology to protect their interests

4 How do you think militarism effected the world?
Militarism increased weapons among nations, and this led to an increased need for countries to build more weapons to feel “safe.” It also caused tensions between nations to get worse (no one really trusted anyone).

10 How did nationalism lead to conflict?
An increased sense of nationalism led to nations being less cooperative. Nations did not see a need to put another country’s needs above their own. This led to even more tension between nations.
