2 April – June Checklist Remain focused on doing your best in your academic work Stay actively involved in your extracurricular activities Reflect on areas where you may feel a need to expand upon (i.e. community service, leadership) and determine a plan to implement this. A discussion with your school counselor may be helpful.

ID Me Parent Brag letter Create an extracurricular Common Application activity sheet – we now have the CA activity sheet available to you located in the document library on Naviance and on the Counselling Center webpage. Teacher letter of recommendations ACT/SAT testing. Summer test dates are available. Continue to research information about colleges from several sources As you develop your list of schools be certain it includes a few colleges that you clearly meet the admissions profile for (i.e. Probable admit School). Visit colleges and ask about interviews Review the College Admissions Step-by-Step Guide for the Class of 2019 and other helpful supporting documents on the Counseling Center website

4 Summer Checklist: The Common Application becomes available August 1st
Look at the Common Application and applications from specific schools and begin to fill them out. Review the Common Application Requirements Grid Write a rough draft of your college essay(s). Artists should find out what their perspective colleges require and use this time to develop an art portfolio or, if applicable, select a piece to perform for auditions. Schedule auditions Athletes must register with the NCAA eligibility center

5 Checklist Continued… Before School Starts in September:
If you are planning to apply Early Decision and/or Early Action, make an appointment to meet with your counselor as soon as you return to school. Be aware of all deadlines Transcripts: Finalized transcripts will not be ready until mid-September Please do not request transcripts until that time. Be ready to attend senior application and Naviance workshops in September

8 Changes are coming to Naviance…
Naviance is being upgraded! Family Connection is being changed to Naviance Student – the design will look different but the access to information will be the same. We plan to switch over to Naviance Student by the end of May. Please be sure to log in to your account and familiarize yourself with the new layout. Before the school year ends, be sure to stop in the Counseling Center if you have any questions.
