1 SCROLL SAW SAFETY

2 SPECIFIC PURPOSE To cut sharp curves and intricate designs on both the inside and outside edges of a workpiece.

3 SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES The hold down must be adjusted to the thickness of the stock being cut to prevent stock from moving. Keep your fingers to the side of the blade, never in front of it. Make sure the blade is installed with the teeth pointing DOWN.

4 USEFUL TIPS Adjust the speed of the saw depending on the complexity of the cut being made. Do not force the stock into the blade. Allow the saw to make the cut. Turn the stock appropriately as you cut curves. Turning too sharply will break the blade. Too slowly will cause the wood to burn. Drill relief holes when making intricate internal cuts. When cutting two or more identical parts, make a sandwich of the material using masking tape or nails.
