PROJECT 2: ‘Getting on the ladder’ PROMOTING LOCAL MUSIC SCENE Week: 19th of February 2018

2 Objectives: Identify individual roles within the group
Research ‘your’ role and identify personal responsibilities within the project Work on a project planning

3 Synopsis Briefly introduce the project. What is your video about?
In one paragraph with no less than five sentences, describe what topic/questions you wanted to dwell on in your video and why did you choose this. Who the video is for? How the audience is going to relate to your video?

4 Treatment Cleary communicate how the video will unfold from beginning to end. Include details of video structure, theme, style, format, voice and point of view. How do you imagine seeing your video? In no less then two paragraphs, give the readers a preview or a ‘taste’ of your video. What type of video? Structure? Theme? Format? Voice? Point of View? What will happen? Describe what will happen at the beginning, middle and end

5 Audio part What the audio ( podcast) part of the project is going to be like? Who and were are you going to interview your band? What type of interview style you are having in mind? Who will listen to your podcast and how listeners will be able to access it, on what platforms?

6 Interactive elements Discuss how are you proposing to promote the band using digital platforms. What is your plan of action

7 Project Timetable Make a schedule

8 Key personnel Provide details of the key project personnel.
Make sure that each member of the group is given clear role within the project ( producer, director, cameraman/ woman, sound etc.) Name Task 1 2 3 4

9 Recce Conduct research on all locations that you are aiming to use for your project? For each location, identify and list the possible problems.  Then write down requirements under each heading. List the actions you will take to control and reduce the location problems identified.

10 Recce sheet Action taken to overcome each problem. Recce report by:
Activity at each Location. Lighting Required? Position of sun? Clearance for shooting agreed with owners? Is there power available? Has access been agreed? Do the police/local council need to be informed? Audio problems, such as traffic noise or planes frequently flying over?  Action taken to overcome each problem. Recce report by: Date:

11 Health and Safety Check all locations for Health and Safety suitability for your project. For the activity, identify and list the possible hazards. Then rate the level of risk – High, Medium, Low  List the actions you will take to control and reduce the risks identified.

13 A contingence plan It is not always possible to plan a production down to the last detail but you need to have a back up plan in case that things go wrong such as: Talent unavailable on day of shoot Equipment faulty Weather conditions Location unavailable etc.
