2. Modern horticulture includes growing and caring of plants, horticulture is part of floristry, agriculture, landscaping and forestry. There are several jobs and skills that are related to horticulture.
Jobs are often outside, hands on and require tech and science skills, and creativity.

Hortus means ‘garden’ and cultura means ‘cultivation’.
Horticulture means the art, cultivation, or care of a garden.
Horticulture is both an art and a science.

3. Floristy or floriculture
Floriculture requires more specialized knowledge and skills as part of the horticulture industry.
Creativity and hands on skills are needed to produce ornamental and aesthetic products and services.
Some jobs are: florist, designers, grounds keeper, greenhouse manager and technicians.

4. Forestry job opportunities can include conservation, research, maintenance, education and resource extraction related to the forests or production of timber and non-timber goods and services.
Technicians and mechanics that specialize in the operation and maintence of equipment.

5. Landscaping requires knowledge of plants their characteristics and care, as well as skills in technology such as design and construction to produce and maintain aesthetic and responsible environments.
Jobs include: Landscape Architect, technicians, labour for grounds care, turf specialis, urban planners.

6. Agriculture includes several different areas of study and job opportunities, in this program we will concentrate on learning mostly about plant production and harvesting.
