What you need to know.

3 HEALTHY LIVING A. Daily Activity Requirement:
150 minutes of moderate to vigorous activity per week Hand in your signed DPA form to your advisory teacher

4 HEALTHY LIVING B. Healthy Living Plan
Use the template on the GT website to describe your goals for healthy eating, physical activity and stress management.

5 COURSE REQUIREMENTS Course/Credit Requirements for graduation:
80 Credits Total 48 course credits 28 elective credits 16 grade 12 credits

6 COURSE REQUIRMENTS Different ways to achieve course credits:
 School course work Independent directed studies Distance learning Challenge Equivalency Secondary school apprenticeship External credentials Post-secondary dual credits

7 COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS
A. 30 Hours of Work or Volunteer Experience during Gr Provide documentation in the form of a pay stub or reference letter. No ‘double dipping’ i.e. using volunteer hours for which you are earning course credit.

8 COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS
B. Show which Employability Skills you developed while volunteering or working at this particular job. Select on Employability Skills checklist on website C. Describe what you did and how you benefitted from this experience. Type a response. 200 words minimum

9 CAREER AND LIFE A. Résumé
See the GT website for templates for ‘high school graduate’ résumés B. Post-Secondary plans Use the Career and Life template to outline details of your plans for life after graduation.

10 CAREER AND LIFE C. Financial Plan
Use the template on the website to make a balanced budget for one month. Remember: it must fit your plans for work or school or travel or whatever!

11 THE GRADUATION INTERVIEW
Interview questions are on the GT website to help you prepare Interviews will be with a Riverside staff member You will discuss your school experiences and future plans

12 RM: Requirements Met! To receive your Dogwood, you must complete these 4 sections to earn your RM and cross the stage! Healthy Living Community Connections Career and Life Graduation Interview

13 Here’s how we’ll help you:
You have a Grad Transitions teacher. Visit them when you have questions All documents are accessible on the GT website Students will upload completed documents to the website. Grad Transitions teachers will monitor progress and meet with students if necessary.

14 Deadlines… Grade 12s will complete Grad Transitions in the same semester as their English 12 class. Semester two English 12 students are encouraged to start early. First semester English students Must have all written work completed by sale of Winter Ball tickets Will be interviewed during the second week of January to receive RM on their January report.

15 Deadlines…. Semester 2 English 12 students Must have all written work completed by the end of April. Will be interviewed during the second week of May. All Grade 12’s may only purchase Grad Dinner tickets once they have earned their RM.

Use the tabs on the Grad Transitions website to access valuable information from the Career Centre and Counsellors. We are here to help and advise you no matter what your plans after high school are. Don’t leave it to the last minute! 
