1 Daily Physical Activity
Since September 2008, all students from K to 12 have been required to participate in Daily Physical Activity. Physical activity may consist of either instructional e.g. PE class or non-instructional activities e.g walking to school

2 Overview Daily Physical Activity is defined as endurance, strength and/or flexibility activities done on a daily basis. Students must document and report a minimum of 150 minutes per week of physical activity, at a moderate to vigorous intensity.

3 At Burnaby Central Secondary . . .
Students who participate in the following programs at Central do NOT need to fill out DPA logs for the year: AVPA PASS Whitecaps Pre-Residency Girls Soccer Program G-REX BWC Hockey Academy

4 At Burnaby Central Secondary . . .
Students who participate in the following classes do NOT need to fill out DPA logs for that semester: PE Dance Weight Training However, they must complete the DPA logs for the semester in which they do not have these classes.

5 Logging DPA Students may pick up their Term 1 DPA log sheet (or print it from Central’s website) and submit them at the end of the term to Ms. Morabito or Ms.Neves in Room A233 Term 2, 3, and 4 log sheets will not be available for pick up. Each student is responsible for printing their own log sheets off the website and handing them in to Room A233 at the end of each term.

6 How DPA will be reported
At the end of each term, you will receive a comment on your report card stating whether or not you are meeting requirements. Completion of DPA is one of the four Graduation Transitions Program requirements. Students will earn four credits toward graduation in Gr.12 once all requirements are met.
