Firm persuasion. Genuine trust that something is true and put our confidence in that fact
Hebrews 11:1
Not merely believing in God but believing God
Involves trusting God
Can be personal belief OR the process of what we do to be saved

Romans 1:16-17, 5:1-2
Ephesians 2:8-9
Saved by grace through faith, and not something earned
BUT, is this faith, “faith only”?
Belief is at the foundation of our faith, but do we have a part?

Simply believing in Jesus and God is not enough

God has done His part
Ephesians 2:4-10, 1:7, Titus 2:11-12 His grace
Ephesians 1:7, Romans 5:6-10, etc. the blood of Jesus
1 Corinthians 15:1-2 Romans 1:16 the gospel

Hearing God’s word – Acts 11:14, Romans 10:17
Belief (faith) – John 3:16, Mark 16:16, Romans 10:9-10 cf. John 6:28-29, 1 Thessalonians 1:3

NO! Our salvation is a gift – Ephesians 2:8-9 Luke 17:10
We need to accept His gift on His terms

Did Abraham earn his blessings? No! But he did obey!
1 Peter 3:20-21 – explains baptism – not just getting wet, but the answer of a good conscience
