2 Algebra II Advanced Functions
What is it all about? 11/24/2018 Math is awesome!

3 Students will also study probability and statistics
Intermediate algebra topics are reviewed in more depth (solving linear equations and systems) Emphasis is placed on advanced functions (quadratic, polynomial, exponential, and logarithmic) and their related graphs Students will also study probability and statistics 11/24/2018 Math is awesome!

4 Overall there will be an emphasis on Technology Real-life applications

5 Students will also receive additional practice for ACT and MCA-II exams.

6 Grades are 70% tests and quizzes and 30% homework
Grading scale is 90% = A, 80% = B, 70% = C, etc. Final exam counts 10% 11/24/2018 Math is awesome!

7 Test and Quizzes Students may expect several very short unannounced quizzes during each chapter. You may use notes on these quizzes. Most units will also have two or three longer quizzes covering several sections and sometimes a cumulative chapter test. These tests and quizzes will always be announced at least two days in advance. Notes may or may not be allowed, depending on the material. 11/24/2018 Math is awesome!

8 Homework will be assigned and discussed daily in class.
Normally, answers alone are unacceptable and will not be given credit. Answers must be accompanied by the written work in a neat and orderly fashion! Homework will be collected and graded in a variety of ways. Late work will only receive half credit. No work will be accepted after the end of the chapter! 11/24/2018 Math is awesome!

9 Complete every assignment to the best of your ability and come prepared with specific questions.
I am available for help outside of class. Do not let yourself get behind. Visit the MRC or after school tutoring as needed. The course is challenging for some students, but it is worth the effort to do your very best! 11/24/2018 Math is awesome!

10 A scientific calculator is essential, a graphing calculator is very helpful!
(There are apps and on-line calcs for use at home if the cost is prohibitive.) 11/24/2018 Math is awesome!

12 Make sure you have access to Skyward and check it regularly.

13 Do not bring any distractions to class. Use study time for math.
