When can I use a calculator?
You will be able to use a calculator on all homework assignments, quizzes, and tests, except…
…when the directions tell you not to use a calculator.
Do I have to show work when using a calculator?
Of course you do! You must show what you did with the calculator.
For example, show this… 156 ÷ 8 = 19.5
…not this! 8 19 76 0.5 72 40 40
Why do I need my own calculator?
You will need a calculator at home for homework and…
…you will need a calculator in study hall to work on math homework. Our calculators stay in our rooms.
What kind of calculator should I have?
Any scientific calculator will work for both 7 th grade and 8 th grade math classes.
