1. PORTABLE HEATER FIRE SAFETY
Portable heaters are not authorized in the dormitories or work centers unless approved by CES HVAC shop.
If used in base privatized housing, portable heaters should be UL Listed. Kerosene heaters or other heaters using combustible materials or fluids and open coil heaters are prohibited in base privatized housing.
Never leave a portable heater on when sleeping or not at home.
Plug them directly into a wall outlet. Don’t use extension cords or power strips with them. Keep a 3 foot clearance around them.
