1 The size of the Band Saw is determined by the diameter of the wheels;
We have two 14” Band Saws.

2 1. Keep your hands at least 4” from the blade & out of the path of the blade.

3 2. Keep the upper adjustment guide no more than ¼” above the stock.

4 3. Make sure the stock has at least one flat surface before you place it against the table.

5 4. Before backing out of a cut, turn off the power & allow the blade to come to a complete stop. Never cut anything smaller than four inches square.

6 5. Use relief cuts when shaping curves that are narrower than the cutting capacity of the blade. Never make sharp turns.

7 6. If the blade should break while cutting a board, turn the machine off immediately & tell the instructor.

8 7. Disconnect the power before changing the blade or working near any cutting tool.

9 8. Remove scrap pieces from the table only after the blade has stopped

10 9. Be sure wheel guards are closed before turning on the machine.

11 10. Feed work into the band saw blade firmly & at a rate that will not overload the saw.

12 11. The only way to tell the machine has stopped is by being able to see the individual teeth on the blade. Do not leave the machine until it comes to a complete stop.
