1 Analysis of Performance

2 AoP This part of the course is worth 12% of your final mark.
Your activity must be same as your PEP activity. The assessment is marked out of 20 and is split up into five sections. You will have to answer questions from all five sections.

4 1. Rules, Regulations & Terminology
Knowledge of competition rules are essential and you will be required to discuss these Terminology – words and phrases with meaning to that sport.

5 2. Observe and analyse performance
During your practical lessons you can practice and improve your ability to observe and analyse a performance. Start by ‘saying what you see’ Task – analyse this performance… To gather information we need to OBSERVE from the best position

6 Observing - Breaking skills down
Whilst observing a performance break down skills into smaller parts: Swimming – how can we break this down? Games/Skill – Phases? Racket – forced errors , unforced errors

8 3. Evaluate performance Technical models:
How the performance should look, otherwise we have nothing to measure against Use coaching manuals found in the library to research or internet

9 Evaluating the performance
What are the strengths? What are the areas to improve? You need to read and study the sport in more depth so that you have something to talk about.

10 4. Action plan Once you find a weakness, you need to give an action plan for how to improve Show drills or practices that you can do to improve performance Sportplan website

11 5. PEP What fitness area did you focus on in your PEP?
Suggest how fitness tests might be used to assess fitness level. Outline the Methods of Training that you used Outline the Principles of Training that you used

12 Gain the higher marks… Identify muscles used in the skill
