2 The Outdoor Education Experience
Camp is a long standing tradition for Cougar Ridge 5th grade students. Provides hands on science learning experiences. Builds camaraderie, friendship, and team building skills. 5th grade memories for life. Students will use camp experiences throughout the year in a variety of academic areas.

3 Why Camp Warm Beach? Warm Beach Camp is located on one of the finest eco-systems in the Northwest for the study of marine estuaries, upland forests, and human impact on natural systems. Windows, doors, & heat!! Close location providing for an extra half a day of camp, at camp, instead of on a bus. Wide variety of activities. Covered meeting area in case of rain. There will be snacks provided!

4 CWB Rules Stay within boundaries at all times.
Do not touch or remove wildlife from natural habitat, including plants. Do not play with sticks or rocks. Keep on established trails. No bare feet at any time, closed toe shoes please. Pick up litter, leave it better than you found it. Camp Leaders will be treated with the same respect given to a teacher. Give undivided attention to teachers during class time and stay with your group. You must be with a buddy at all times at camp.

6 Back Pack/draw string bag
Sack Lunch for the first day. Needs to be completely disposable. Water bottle that you can refill. Coat. Book or small game (No electronics. A camera and flash lights are the no battery exception). Backpack is the only thing students will bring to school on Wednesday. Note: You will carry this backpack EVERYWHERE at camp.

7 Traveling to Warm Beach
Students come to school at the regular 9:10 time, with their backpack and sack lunch. No binders or school supplies are needed. Camp buses will leave at 9:30. About a 1 ½ hour bus trip . Students will eat their sack lunch when we arrive at camp.

8 Accommodations Approximately 8 students & 2 parent chaperones in each cabin. Heated with windows & doors! Multiple bathrooms and shower facilities. Students will need a sleeping bag and pillow.

9 CWB Cabin Rules Absolutely No Girls in Boy Cabins, No Boys in Girl Cabins…No Exceptions. Cabins need to be kept clean and tidy. No horse play or climbing on furniture, or out windows. Quiet after lights out. Must stay in your cabin from lights out until 7:00 AM. Must have a buddy or chaperone when going to the bathroom. Students must wake a parent to let them know they are going to the bathroom at night.

10 Café Warm Beach Buffet style dining .
Multiple food choices for each meal, including a vegetarian option. Morning and afternoon snacks, will be provided. Please do NOT bring any food, snacks, or treats.

12 CWB Dining Hall Students should use the restroom and wash hands before entering the dining hall. You will not be allowed to leave the dining hall once you enter until everyone in your cabin is done and your table/eating area is clean. Good manners at the table. Sit with cabin group and chaperones. Our meals will be buffet style so remember you can always go back for more and don’t waste food. Students will line up outside the dining hall, then wait for instructions from WB staff.

15 Swimming or Put-Put? Students will have a choice to swim in the heated pools, play Put-put Golf, or Basketball, or kickball/soccer. Don’t forget a swim suit, towel, & pool flip flops-for pool time only.

18 What to Bring Please review the What to Bring list that went home with the camp packet. This list can also be found on the classroom website. Short list: Clothes, sleeping bag, pillow, & towel. Layers! Be prepared for all types of weather. No Bell Hops at Camp….Students need to be able to carry ALL of their luggage a short distance. You may bring a disposable or inexpensive camera.

Anything that plugs in Cell phone Money Electronic games, Kindles, iPods Food

20 Luggage Drop Off Luggage drop off is Tuesday, September 25th between 6-7 PM here at Cougar Ridge. All luggage must be dropped off at this time except the student’s back pack. Luggage will be tagged and put directly into the chaperone’s vehicle.

21 Welcome Home! Buses will arrive back at Cougar Ridge at approximately 1:30 PM. Once we arrive at school you will line up by class and must be “signed” out with your teacher to your parents before you are allowed to leave. If not, your teacher will be calling all of your contacts to track you down!!! Please let your teacher know who will be picking you up after camp.
