1. CS6021 Final Project – Team Part
Objective(s): Team presents a 45-minute presentation of a general advanced topic related to computer architecture and also individually research a more narrower topic related to the team’s advanced topic
TEAM PART OF FINAL PROJECT
Teams will teach the class about a specific advanced topic relating to architecture– only power point slides are required – you can scan images into the slides
The presentation power point slides are due October 29th by 5pm – upload to D2L– docked 1% per each hour late
The presentations will occur on 10/30 (Team 4), 11/1 (Team 3), 11/6 (Team 2), and 11/8 (Team 1)
Your team has 45 minutes for the presentation – must be in powerpoint form
Will have 10 minute Q/A from students
All team members must present - all teams are expected to attend ALL presentation days.
Docked for going over or below time limit of 45 minutes (5% per minute)
Graded on (1) presentation clarity, flow and thoroughness (75%), (2) slide quality (20%), and (3) perceived team work (5%)
Your presentation should flow as one presentation and not disjointed (can’t divide the subject – everyone must understand the entire subject – if not, will lose points on flow)
Your presentation should NOT overlap with other teams’ topics listed – you control the flow and content of your presentation
Your presentation should not waste time “re-covering” or “re-hashing” fundamentals covered in an undergrad architecture course (or covered in the review portion of this course) – will lose points for this.
You should list the various sources you referenced in your lecture
Should provide access to the various sources used (i.e. links, scan copies, etc) – will need to upload
Team decision and strategy in determining “how” to cover the topic in 45 minutes.
Team members are responsible for researching (and learning) together and organizing the lecture as a team – teamwork – I can sense teamwork or not before and during the presentation
The presentation topics will be covered in exam 2 – at the scope and level of your slides – CLOSED BOOK EXAM
Will lose points for reading from cue cards or any source (including the actual ppt slides) - seeking for you to understand the topic at a high level well enough to teach and instruct - not read.
Slides (and sources) sent on 10/29/18 by 5pm will be the final presentation used – no need to bring slides – can not change slides after 10/29/18 (5 pm) – can only use the slides posted – there should be ONE upload per team (team decides who is responsible for this).

2. CS6021 Final Project – Individual Part
INDIVIDUAL PART OF FINAL PROJECT
Each individual will determine a more narrower topic to research related to their team’s advanced topic. Each individual will write a research paper and present their results.
You have until October 20th to decide on a research topic – must be approved by Professor – the back and forth approval can be done via - everyone’s topic must be different (Professor will ensure this, FCFS policy)– if you proceed with a non approved topic, you will get a zero for this part of the project
The research presentation power point slides and paper are due November 14th by 5pm – upload to D2L – docked 1% per each hour late
Presentations will occur on 11/15 (Teams 1 and 2), 11/27 (Team 3 ) and 11/29 (Team 4)
NOTE: Teams 3 and 4 presented earlier than teams 1 and 2 for the group presentation, members of teams 1 and 2 will present earlier for the individual presentations.
You will have 10 minutes for the presentation – must be in powerpoint form
You only need to come on the day you present your research – not the other research presentation days
Your presentation (and paper) should “re-cover” or “re-hash” the team’s presentation (or any topics covered in the review of the course) – the presentation should be 100% focused on your research discovery and findings.
Specs for writing the paper will be posted with in 2 weeks.

3. For the INDIVIDUAL PRESENTATION - You need to only come on your presentation day
