Intervention Referrals Advocacy Students need help. CDC: A 2011 CDC nationwide survey found that 23% of females and 14% of males who ever experienced rape, physical violence, or stalking by an intimate partner, first experienced some form of partner violence between 11 and 17 years of age. A 2013 survey found approximately 10% of high school students reported physical victimization and 10% reported sexual victimization from a dating partner in the 12 months before they were surveyed. What does this mean for your school?

9 What does the SAC do? The Mission of the Student Advocacy Coordinator is empower students by coordinating and providing student advocacy services, including victim advocacy, for survivors of sexual assault, relationship violence, stalking, harassment and bullying; and to assist potentially at-risk students overcome problems that impede learning and success in school.

10 What does the SAC do? Goals
To empower students to overcome obstacles to their growth both inside and outside the classroom. To respond to complaints about sexual assault and/or sexual violence, bullying, gender-based violence promptly and equitably. To coordinate and/or provide support services to NPS schools and their staffs. To provide confidential support, advocacy and prevention education for students and their families. To promote a climate of respect and positivity at each school site. To initiate safety planning for students experiencing gender-based violence or bullying.

11 How do we use the SAC? Anyone can refer to the SAC. Teacher Student
Parent Admin Counselor Coach/Sponsor During each of bullets, I discuss different situations where I would get a referral from these people.
