2 Additional administrative services
Let’s take a moment to talk about our additional administrative services. Just like our outstanding medical administration service, UMR prides itself on delivering efficient and careful dental administration, using technology to give providers what they need so customer service analysts can devote more time to handling member calls. Just like medical administration, our goal with dental is to resolve issues on the first call. Our core technology is proprietary and fully-owned, which allows us to constantly respond to feedback from the market on specific needs of employers. Administering retiree health benefits requires patience, compassion and in-depth knowledge of our customer’s plan. Our dedicated claim processing and customer service teams are trained on topics specific to the mature market, such as: Senior aging, sensitivity and geriatric principles Medicare payment guidelines Plan-specific coordination of benefits guidelines We also provide member communications designed for retirees. Our EOBs, ID cards and Web content is easy to read and understand. UMR will work with you to design a cost-effective benefit solution that can include Medicare crossover (A and B) for automated receipt of Medicare claims and COB information, Medicare Part D support, HIPAA and DOL compliance support and individual billing of retirees and eligibility assistance. UMR works directly with you to create retiree strategies and plans that allow participants to make a smooth transition from the active medical experience. 3 Additional administrative services
Our knowledge and experience with HIPAA, DOL and PPACA mandates can alleviate your compliance burdens too. We seamlessly perform all COBRA notification, coupon generation, payment posting, tracking and termination functions. And since our software programs are client server-based and menu-driven, we can program them to handle your unique situation. Add a team dedicated solely to COBRA administration and you can understand our consistent 97% satisfaction rating from clients on COBRA administration. Similarly, short- and long-term disability management can be laborious for employers. Our experienced staff of knowledgeable customer service analysts and registered nurses combine forces on the verification and duration of disability claims. Flexible service packages allow us to administer as much or as little of the disability process as our clients prefer. You can choose from the basic salary continuance option, the more robust advice-to-pay option or full service check-cut option. Since 2/3 of FMLA leaves are concurrent with short-term disability, we will integrate both administration programs to streamline the process for you and your plan members. Like disability, FMLA can be challenging, given the changing state and federal laws. UMR tracks federal and state leaves down to intervals of one minute, ensures compliance with FMLA regulations and can administer company-specific plans that offer more generous leave policies than federal and state acts. Services through strategic partnerships: Telephonic medical consultation Discounted hearing exams and products Dependent eligibility audits Vision Through strategic relationships UMR can also offer customers access to a number of ancillary services. Having already vetted out their competencies and track records, you can be sure you are using best-of-breed services to round out your benefit plan. Through UMR, you have access to Teladoc, which provides medical consultation by telephone. This national network of US board-certified physicians uses electronic health records, phone consultations and online video consultations to diagnose, recommend treatment and write short-term, non-DEA-controlled prescriptions when appropriate. Doctors are available 24/7, allowing members to conveniently access quality care from their home, work or elsewhere instead of more expensive alternatives such as an emergency room or clinic. In addition Teladoc recently expanded their consultative options through virtual online interactions with certified and trained physicians. EPIC Hearing Health Care provides discounted hearing aids and exams, and best of all costs nothing for a customer and is easy to implement. No ID cards, activation fees or pre-referral costs. All services and referrals are coordinated with existing coverage under major medical benefits to assure full use of benefit dollars. We can also offer dependent eligibility audits to help you administer the plan according to its terms, including dependent eligibility definitions. A carefully planned dependent eligibility audit can identify ineligible dependents, garnering potentially significant savings over several years. Our audit process is dynamic and reconfigures questions from participants based on how they answer previous questions. The process is proven, helping you conserve valuable plan assets for valued team members eligible for coverage. Through our sister company, OptumHealth, UMR offers a vision program that provides top-quality vision benefits including eye exams and materials and screenings to detect medical conditions. OptumHealth Vision is inexpensive, easy to administer and one of the most comprehensive plans in the industry. We also offer OptumHealth’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP), providing easy access to confidential resources to help address personal issues that may carry over into the workplace. After accessing EAP services, 75 percent of EAP users report less stress and 91 percent indicate they were helped in achieving a balance between work and personal issues. Online enrollment makes benefits administration simpler and more efficient. UMR can eliminate the hassles of paperwork and manual data entry, saving you valuable time.
