1 EDHS Grading Policy ATC

2 Background: The Rigor Team, which consists of EDHS teachers, recently worked together to clarify the grading policy used on campus at EDHS.

3 What does this mean to you, the student?
You have more control and more responsibility for your schoolwork. How ??? Follow along for the FAQ….

4 1. What happens if I fail an assignment or a test?
You may have the opportunity to re-do failing assignments within the 3 week Progress Report Window. At the end of the 3 week period, you have 5 days to make up your work. Your teacher may have you do an assignment different from the original.

5 2. Can I re-do assignments as many times as I want to?
Yes, but remember- your teacher may have you do a different assignment than the original, and it has to be within the 3 week window.

6 3. How do I go about re-doing an assignment?
You must approach your teacher about any re-do or make-up work. Remember your deadlines!

7 4. What if I turn in work past the due date?
Your teacher may assess a penalty for late work in order to keep from penalizing students that turn in work on time.

8 5. What if I have missing work?
Your teacher may assign alternate assignments to replace your missing work. Remember- your teacher cannot know what you know until you turn in your assignments.

9 6. What if I have unexcused absences?
After your teacher verifies your absence as unexcused, your teacher is not required to give you a make-up assignment. Go to class! We can’t help you if you’re not here!

10 7. What if I have questions?
Go to your teachers-they will be happy to clarify the grading policy for you. They work hard to make sure you get the help you need to be successful!
