DEPARTMENT OF THE PRIME MINISTER AND CABINET Land Tenure Reform Pilots

Current pilots PRIME MINISTER & CABINET

Benefits - Kimberley This project has identified economic development aspirations of native title groups in the Kimberley (eg, gubinge), and is supported by a clear pathway with the State Government on tenure reform and emerging interests from potential partners. PRIME MINISTER & CABINET

Outcomes The land tenure reform pilots measure is generating the following outcomes: Showing what can be achieved under existing land administration arrangements. Developing an evidence base and guidance that can be used by other groups to achieve their aspirations. Demonstrating the value of engagement between government, industry and Indigenous land holders. PRIME MINISTER & CABINET

New ideas? Funding is available for new pilots, which must be completed by 30 June 2019. Proposals should focus on Indigenous land holders and deliver practical improvements to their communities. Proposals need to demonstrate effective processes and lessons learnt so these can provide guidance and be applied to other communities across the north. You should contact the Department’s Regional Network on to discuss your ideas. PRIME MINISTER & CABINET
