2 Large scale change is the process of mobilising a large collection of individuals, groups and organisations towards a vision of a fundamentally new future state by means of: Key themes that can make a big difference A shift in power and a more distributed leadership Comprehensive and active engagement of stakeholders Mutually reinforcing changes in multiple systems and processes Moving from the power to change through personal authority, to a new world where power comes from connection and the ability to influence through systems and networks.

3 Energy for Change Social
Personal engagement, relationships and connections between people. Spiritual Commitment to a common vision for the future, driven by shared values and a higher purpose. Psychological Courage, resilience and feeling safe to do things differently. Trust in leadership and direction. Physical Action, getting things done and making progress. Intellectual Analysis, thinking and planning, gaining insight – evaluation and arguing a case on the basis of logic/evidence.

4 Are you having those conversations within your organisations ?
Ambition Is there an energising ambition big enough to require profound change and motivating enough to keep people working towards it, especially when the going gets tough? Relationship Is the trust and confidence being built within teams for robust and challenging discussions on difficult and sensitive issues necessary for change? Priority Are there clear distinctions between things that will move your organisation towards its new role, that ensure money and time resources are properly focused on the few things that matter?

5 Accountability Do the relevant teams understand and work with collective as well as individual accountability? Delivery Is there ownership of the consistent and sustainable delivery of projects? Learning Is the leadership team and Board utilising the full range of debate, expertise etc, to expand their understanding of the challenges and issues?
