BORTREE LECTURE SERIES Andrew Pekosz Professor, Dept. of Environmental Health and Engineering Johns Hopkins University “Human influenza surveillance in two distinct geographic areas identifies variations in virus strains, disease severity and immune responses to infection” Andrew Pekosz received a BS from Rutgers University and a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Pekosz joined the Department of Molecular Microbiology and Immunology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in July, 2007.He is an expert on the basic biology of influenza and other emerging or zoonotic virus infections. Dr. Pekosz is the co-Director of the Johns Hopkins Center for Excellence in Influenza Research and Surveillance (JH-CEIRS) and Director of the Center for Emerging Viral Infectious Diseases (CEVID).
