Collabco was developing a cloud-based portal product for the UK education marketplace. Collabco needed a well- trusted platform that would allow it to establish its cloud business model with minimal financial risk. It also required a platform that made it possible for Collabco to use familiar technologies and adopt new ones in order to scale.

Established five years ago and now providing the same experience on browser and mobile, myday revolutionizes a student’s learning journey. Utilizing Office 365 and AngularJS, Collabco fully takes advantage of Microsoft’s portfolio.
SOLUTION
Microsoft Azure was a natural choice to host myday, and being eligible for Microsoft BizSpark Plus made the decision financially sound. Azure Storage technologies such as blob and table storage enable Collabco to partition its data in this way and provide scalability, high availability and excellent value for money. Azure App Services coupled with Traffic manager allows Collabco to robustly host its front-end and web API at scale. The auto-scaling feature allows it to tune available compute capacity to cope with peak load demands and scale down to save money when not needed. Cloud service worker roles are used with Azure Service Bus queuing to run intensive offline data manipulation activities, enabling timely data delivery to end users with minimal latency.
