4 General Practice Today

5 Site names The Hackwood Partnership = Essex House
Camrose Medical Partnership = St Andrews Centre Gillies and Overbridge Medical Partnership = Gillies Health Centre, GHC for short. Three sites, one Practice = Acorn Health Partnership.

6 Why merge? Sustainability – futureproofing – so patients still have a local surgery. More opportunities for working with hospital and other providers. Less risk of professional isolation – more opportunities to upskill. Larger scale working. Likeminded GP Partners, similar patient demographic, similar ethos.

7 Online patient services
Information on your seats. Gillies patients and non-users of patient access unaffected. Why? Error in the letter PCSE sent. Apologies to Essex House patients for the delays on 11th July. St Andrews Centre patients do not HAVE TO attend open evening – only attend if more convenient. Patient access account error – sporadic. Raise issue with patient access or use alternative provider of online patient services.

8 Premises All three sites are remaining open.
Plans to expand Gillies site – 6 more consulting rooms.

9 Appointments GPs will continue to work from their current site for routine appointments. Strict lists = continuity of care. Non-list GPs across all three sites for ‘one-off’ problems. New duty doctor system. Results in ~200 additional routine GP appointments per week. Clinical hubs. Nurse appointments.

10 Parking and transport Parking at Essex House – concerns re: limited.
Parking at St Andrews Centre – concerns re: difficult during school drop/pick up times. Letter to the Council. Bus routes between the sites, patient participation group are launching a project group to present a case to the Council.
