WHISKEY REBELLION
In this 1676 rebellion, former indentured servants on the colonial frontier rebelled against their colonial gov’t in the East for refusing to aid them with Indian problems; this rebellion signaled a move from indentured servitude to slavery.

5. REBELLIONS – Which is it?
This 1831 slave rebellion in Virginia instilled fear in the South; slave codes became stricter, abolitionists fled the South & the South began to aggressively defend slavery as a “positive good.”
NAT TURNER’S REBELLION
This farmer’s rebellion in 1786 pointed out the weaknesses of the federal government under the Articles of Confederation and led directly to the Constitutional Convention.
