HV: where we are I.N.F.N. Naples High Voltage: The power supply tender has been assigned to the CAEN; A complete prototype will be delivered in Sept 04 and will be test in Naples using the RB3 chamber that is working in Naples in the cosmic test station. The” small” quadrupolar cables (from chamber to patch panel) have been delivered at CERN; The “big” multi-conductors cables tender has to be redone as soon as possible; The tripolar and coaxial connectors have been delivered to Naples; A first HV distributor prototype has been build in Naples. Now is under test; A first HV patch panel is almost ready; 11/20/2018 Pierluigi Paolucci - I.N.F.N. Naples

LV: where we are I.N.F.N. Naples Low Voltage: The power supply quotation inquiry made by CERN for CMS will be ready in a few weeks; A LV PS prototype will be delivered in July 04 and will be tested in Naples; The power supply will be ordered in Sept 04 and delivered from Dec 04 to Dec 05; The cables have been delivered at CERN; The connectors will be ordered in June; The cable production will be done at the ISR when the cable length list will be officially published by the DT-RPC team (CERN-TO-PD-NA) 11/20/2018 Pierluigi Paolucci - I.N.F.N. Naples

10 HV and LV cost estimation 2003
I.N.F.N. Naples The total costs of the systems are calculated using a spreadsheet having as inputs the following items: number of: connectors, cables, patch panels, boards, crates, controllers and mainframes cable length and installation costs cost of each of those items GRI may 03 slide We have used the following prices (Euro): 3500 HV board, 2500 LV boards, 1500 crates, 3500 branch contr, 10K mainframe. Tot (HV control room) CORE is  900 FS or 600 K€ 11/20/2018 Pierluigi Paolucci - I.N.F.N. Naples

Budget & Costs I.N.F.N. Naples A “reduced” HV and LV systems have been designed for budget limitation: HV: from 1020 to 480 ch.  80 boards  12 crates; LV: from 1560 to 720 ch.  60 boards  20 crates High Voltage 2003 estimated cost  400/450 K€ already paid  € to complete  100 K€ Low Voltage 2003 estimated cost  200/250 K€ already paid  10 K€ to complete  240 K€ 80 boards Tot: 506 K€ Extra: 50 K€ Tot: 250 K€ No Extra 11/20/2018 Pierluigi Paolucci - I.N.F.N. Conclusions I I.N.F.N. Naples The intermediate solution (80 boards  one channel per chamber) has been chosen for the HV system in order: Prevent the ground loop for the RB3 & RB4 chambers; Have independent voltage on every chamber. The HV tender has been assigned to the CAEN: HV board: € (2003)  3500 €; EASY crate: 1000 € (2003)  950 €; Branch Ctrl: 1000 € (2003)  850 €; SY1527: € (2003)  8500 €; There is an extra cost of about 50 K€ The LV PS costs are known: No reductions The cost of the system is 250 K€  No extra costs 11/20/2018 Pierluigi Paolucci - I.N.F.N. Naples

15 Pierluigi Paolucci - I.N.F.N. Naples
Conclusions II I.N.F.N. Naples 450 K€ has been assigned in the 2003: 422 K€ has been already spent in the 2003; Extra cost of about 50 K€ is needed to complete the system; We are still working on the cable construction and installation; The LV delivery will begin in the second part of the 2004: No reduction in the LV PS price (CERN tender); The cable construction will be done at ISR. 150 K€ are sub-judice in the 2004 Total extra cost of both the system is 200 K€ 11/20/2018 Pierluigi Paolucci - I.N.F.N. Naples
