Davide Piccolo INFN Napoli Electronics Review 12-05-2005 LB crate position Option 1: crate on the front side very difficult to cable and big amount of cables on the path of the air flow Option 2: crate on the back side more easy to cable no cables on the path of the air flow, But front side of the LB crate at a distance of 600 mm from front side, we have to close the front for air flow problem and create a path for front cables, we have to modify the crates to move backward the backplane (is not an issue) Front of LB crate

We are waiting for cutting length SGN cable: work on progress for the tender. Connector choosen (BERG or ODU connector). A preproduction of cable preparation for the barrel (157 cables for sector test) will be done at CPE Cable fixation tool/LB crate : invetigating several solutions. We have drawings. Some proptotype will be prepared in Napoli and we will decide the best solution after tests on complete crate inside the rack.
