Digital Kit is another way to help facilitate instruction for students with a focus on project-based learning. From Jennifer Gingerich United Streaming Webinar 2008

A collection of digital materials based upon units of instruction. Photos, video segments, sounds, music, websites (bookmark them)(Inspiration, in a Word document)(googledocs), citations And easily available to students: CD, Shared folder, on teacher web site, collaborative storage iKeepBookmarks.com Music Web Sites Citations

4 What Can Teachers Do with a Digital Kit?
Your Ideas: __________ Double Click Slide Show 1. Materials in a digital kit can be used to enhance and differentiate instruction simply by double clicking and sharing the media with students via a projection device and/or speakers. 2. PowerPoint or keynote presentations 3. Slide show of photos to talk about Inspiration Investigation—embed multimedia Version 8 Materials can be combined and transformed to create a digital story using PhotoStory or MovieMaker. Kit can be burned to a CD or placed in a shared folder for students to access. Photos can be posted to sites (Flickr or Picassa) so students can access them online. ** Opened a template called untitled (Utility Menu) because it is a template and untitled all 30 kids can open it up at the same time. 6 How to Create Digital Kits
Set up folders Download files Copy & Paste Citations Distribute Put folders on the Desktop first for ease. Set up folders with specific names. Copy and paste citations in a Word document so that links are useable.

8 Citation Locations Citations are located in different areas. You may have to look for them. US makes it simple. In Pics4learning, you search for the picture, then open the picture, scroll down to locate the citation. Click on the picture to move down to the citation.

Give students the kit and they decide what they want to create; list 20 things that come from the ocean; create a photostory, collage, comic strip, etc. Click the word Sample and then use the Back arrow.
