As population of colonist increased, land was taken away from Native Americans Population of Native Americans decreased by 90% in New England after 75 years By 1637, Indian wars occurred (King Phillip war, 1670’s) Indians lost more land. Native Americans

20 Puritan Influence Decline
By 1670’s the new generation of New Englanders lost some of their parent’s religious fervor Focus now on building and farming new land Money was now the focus over religion. Eventually Puritan beliefs lead to the Salem Witch trails.
