1 Objective: Students will be able to search Literature Resource Center for critical essays on Kate Chopin’s The Awakening Go to Library Website Choose Teacher Projects Go to English and look for Ms. Zamorski Literary Criticism Click on Literary Resource Center Username mtsinaihs Password mustang Search keyword to find critical essays Under Literature Criticism find critical essays, the citation and full text articles Click on the article you choose to read

3 Critical Essays are found under Literature Criticism
What is a critical essay? Analysis of the strengths, weaknesses and methods of some else’s work Begins with an overview of the main points of the text followed by analysis of the meaning of the work. It discusses if the author makes his or her points.

4 You chose an article now what?

5 Objective: Students will be able to highlight and make notes on the article
To Highlight – drag mouse over the sentence and highlight with colors and note tab will appear To write Notes click on the Notes Click on save

6 Objective: students will be able to download the article with Highlights and Notes to Google Docs
Click on Download and then OK

7 Open Google Docs and under Recent find the article Highlights and Notes are at the bottom of article

8 Objective: Students will be able to create a Works cited page using EasyBib
Why Cite? Distinguish citation and interpretation How the knowledge of topic was formed How to cite? On right side of article is a toolbar called Tools To add the article citation to the Works Cited Choose Citation Tools

9 Make sure on MLA 8th ed. (latest edition as of 4/15)
Choose EasyBib EasyBib will appear and choose Export Choose to save as Google Docs or Print as Word Document

10 If you choose to Save to Google Docs from Export button
It will say File successfully uploaded to Google Docs Click on Google Docs and it will open the document
