The End of WW II And its Toll

The End of WW II As the war was coming to a close the leaders of the allied country met in Yalta, in the Soviet Union. Several things were agreed upon at the Yalta Conference. First, that Germany would be divided into four parts for each of the allied countries.

The End of WW II

The End of WW II Stalin also agreed at the conference to join the allies in fighting Japan. Thirdly, Stalin agreed to attend another conference in San Francisco to talk about a world governing body.. When the war ended in Japan, American forces stayed to help rebuild the country. MacArthur spent several years introducing capitalism and democracy to the Japanese.

The End of WW II The Japanese emperor Hirohito was allowed to stay in power to help in the rebuilding process. Not all escaped to see another day such as Tojo who was sentenced to death. On the other continent the Nazi’s were having their own trial.

The End of WW II The Nuremberg Trials were court trials that saw many Nazi’s being accused of crimes against the peace, war crimes and crimes against humanity. Many high ranking Nazi’s were put on trail and convicted and sentenced to death. This trial set an important precedent that actions during wartime could be found illegal.
