1. How to Become a CACFP Family Day Care Home Provider
To be eligible to participate a family day care home provider must:
Be licensed (registered or certified) by the Oregon Office of Child Care (OCC); or
Approved by the Oregon Department of Health Services (DHS) to provide care; and
Be age 18 or over; and
Provide non-residential childcare services
The Child and Adult Care Food Program is a United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) meal reimbursement program helping Family Day Care Home providers offer well balanced, healthy and nutritious meals and snacks to children in private home settings.
To be eligible to participate a family day care home provider must:

Providers work directly with Sponsoring Organizations
Sponsoring Organizations have an agreement with the Oregon Department of Education Child Nutrition Programs to provide services to providers
Providers sign an agreement with a Sponsoring Organization

Providers who offer non-residential childcare in their home may be approved to operate the CACFP as Family Day Care Home providers. Providers don’t work directly with the Oregon Department of Education to operate the Program, but instead work with a Sponsoring Organization.
