1 Daily Question 1/29/15 Think about a country you know something about.
Write down at least 5 characteristics of that place. Do NOT write the country’s name on your paper, just the characteristics. -Think about climate, physical features, culture, landmarks etc. -Dry, desert, Islam, Great Pyramids, Nile River. (Egypt) - Do not use the U.S. or Egypt.

Technology has continually improved our ability to communicate ideas across the globe

6 Why do people move? Push factors: Push people away.
Wars, famine, lack of jobs, climate etc. Push factors: Pull people towards. Opportunities, jobs, climate, etc.

Formal Region: A formal region has defined boundaries, such as New York City or Texas.

Functional Region: A functional region has a particular area that some entity serves.

Perceptual Region: A perceptual region is an area that we are all familiar with, but there are not distinctive boundaries.
