Search Summary The search strategy used to identify publications that reported randomized control trial (RCT) data on vitamins and minerals with cardiovascular disease (CVD), CVD components, and all-cause mortality. The publications are from 2012 to 2017 and focus on meta-analysis of RCTs and single RCTs identified by searching Cochrane, MEDLINE, and PubMed, and by manual searches. The reasons for exclusion are given. There were 179 single RCTs included, of which 15 were new since the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) meta-analysis. The capture rate of 113 of 1,496 at <10% indicates the general interest in this area, but a relative lack of usable data. SRMA = systematic review and meta-analysis.
