Model the phrases for ‘I am hungry’ and get the pupils to do an appropriate action as they say the words.
Then model ‘I would like a sandwich’ and ‘I would like a salad’, again with a gesture for ‘I would like’ that will help them remember the meaning.

3 Memory game I went to the supermarket and I bought… Pupils have to create sentences, building on each others’ answers. They need to structure/punctuate them accurately too, with ‘et’ for ‘and’ before the final item each time. E.g.
Je suis allé(e) au supermarché et j’ai acheté une banane
Je suis allé(e) au supermarché et j’ai acheté une banane et un hamburger.
Je suis allé(e) au supermarché et j’ai acheté une banane, un hamburger et des frites.
