2 Emergency Action Steps
1. Check the scene and the victim 2. Call 911 3. Care for the victim

3 Check the scene? Is the scene safe? What do you look for
What happened? How many victims are there? Are bystanders available to help?

4 Check the victim DO NOT MOVE THE VICTIM UNLESS THEY ARE IN IMMEDIATE DANGER!!! Look and assess for 4 life threatening conditions 1. unconscious 2.no signs of circulation 3.no breathing 4.severe bleeding

5 To provide care to a victim you must provide the following information:
Who you are Your level of training What it is you would like to do Ask permission to help

6 Unconscious victim=Implied Consent
Implied consent means you automatically get permission to help someone. A child who does not have an adult present gives implied consent.

7 What situations do you automatically call EMS for?

8 Fires Gas explosion Electrical wires down Flooding Crash

10 Care Firstafter 2 minutes of care then call 911
Call First Unconscious adult, child or infant but breathing Child or infant with heart conditions Care Firstafter 2 minutes of care then call 911 1.unconscious child under 12. 2. drowning 3. severe bleeding ie. Bleeding to death
