2. Praise of the Night-Watchers
Psalm 134

3. Who Were They?
They were Levites who stood “continually” ministering in the temple all throughout the night: fire (Lev. 6:8- 13); lamp (Lev. 24:1-4); praising (1 Chron. 9:33; 23:30); etc.
This night work had been neglected in the days leading up to Hezekiah and had to be restored (2 Chron. 29:11)

4. Who Were They?
They had dedication and devotion for their work – a sense of duty (Lk. 17:10)
They had service and sacrifice for others – a sense of selflessness (Rom. 12:1; Phil. 2:17)
They had love for God’s word – a sense of loyalty (Jn. 14:15)

5. Who Were They? No excuse-making No misplaced priorities
No convenience religion

6. Who Are We? We are a spiritual priesthood (1 Pet. 2:5)
We are to be continual in our praise (Heb. 13:15)
We are to serve God day and night (Lk. 2:37; Rev. 4:8; 7:15)

7. Who Are We?
We don’t ever stop serving God (Psa. 92:1-2; 119: )

8. Who Are We? Let us not neglect the work in the home (Tit. 2:5)
Let us not neglect the work in ourselves (Phil. 2:12)
Let us not neglect the Lord’s work (1 Cor. 15:58)
