2 Four Facts You Must Face A Basic Lesson for Converting the Lost
Presented by Chris Reeves * Benton church of Christ Gospel Meeting * Oct. 5, 2017

3 Why this lesson? The greatest need of mankind is salvation from sin (Mk. 10:17; Acts 2:37; 16:30; 22:10) Christians need to know what to say to the lost (Acts 8:4)

4 Why this lesson? There is a need for these basics considering the general lack of Bible knowledge today (Eph. 4:18)

5 Facing Four Facts ( Illustrated with Adam and Eve ) 1. You are not alone; God is (Gen. 1:1) 2. You are a sinner; God speaks (Gen. 2:16; 1 Tim. 2:14) 3. You can be saved; God provides (Gen. 3:15, 21) 4. You will be judged by God (Gen. 3:23-24)

6 Fact 1: You Are Not Alone People need to know that they are not alone; there is a God (Acts 14:15-17; 17:24) God gives evidence of his existence (Psa. 19:1; Rom. 1:19- 20; Heb. 3:4) It is foolish to deny God (Psa. 14:1)

7 Fact 2: You Are A Sinner People need to know that they are sinners; God speaks and people violate his law (Heb. 1:1-2) Sin (Gr. hamartia) is transgression of God’s law (Jas. 2:9; 4:17; 1 Jn. 3:4; 5:17) God’s law gives the knowledge of sin (Rom. 3:20; 7:7) and the occasion for sin (Rom. 5:13; 1 Cor. 15:56)

8 Fact 2: You Are A Sinner All have sinned (Rom. 3:9, 23); sin separates (Isa. 59:1-2); sin brings death (Rom. 6:23; Jas. 1:14-15)

9 Fact 3: You Can Be Saved People need to know that they can be saved; God provides a way of salvation (Eph. 2:8; 1 Tim. 2:4)

10 Fact 3: You Can Be Saved God provides a saving Messiah- Jesus (Lk. 19:10; Jn. 3:16-17; Acts 4:12; 5:31; Rom. 5:8; Cor. 15:3; Gal. 1:14; Eph. 5:25; Col. 1:8; 1 Tim. 1:15; Heb. 1:3; 2:9, 17; 9:28; 10:12; 1 Pet. 2:24; Jn. 2:2; Rev. 1:5)

11 Fact 3: You Can Be Saved God, through the H.S., provides a saving message (Rom. 1:16; 6:17- 18; 1 Cor. 1:18,21; Heb. 8:12)

12 Fact 3: You Can Be Saved Hear Jesus (Mt. 17:5)
Believe in Jesus (Acts 16:31) Confess Jesus (Rom. 10:9) Turn to (repent) Jesus (Acts 2:38) Be baptized into Jesus (Mk. 16:15- 16)

13 Fact 3: You Can Be Saved Follow Jesus (Rev. 14:4)

14 Fact 3: You Can Be Saved Baptism washes away our sins (Acts 2:38; 22:16) Baptism puts us into Christ and his body/church of Christ (Rom. 6:3; Cor. 12:13; Gal. 3:27; Col. 2:12) Baptism saves (1 Pet. 3:21)

15 Fact 3: You Can Be Saved A saved person is a “Christian” only (Acts 11:26) A saved person is a part of the body/church of Christ (Acts 2:47; Eph. 1:23; 4:4) A saved person can fall from grace (Gal. 5:4; Heb. 12:15)

16 Fact 4: You Will Be Judged
People need to know that God will judge them (Rom. 2:2-11, 16; 14:10; 2 Cor. 5:10; Heb. 12:23; 13:4) It is important to repent (Acts 17:30-31) and obey the gospel (2 Thess. 1:8)

17 Fact 4: You Will Be Judged
It is important to warn (Acts 24:25) It is important to remain faithful (2 Pet. 1:5-11) It is important to be ready for the day of the Lord (Heb. 9:27; Pet. 3:7-9)

18 Fact 4: You Will Be Judged
What will you do with the four facts you must face? Now is the day of salvation (2 Cor. 6:2)!
