Overview Population: 30,000 – 40,000 Location: Ituri Forest
Composed of different bands: 15 to 60 people Language: Dialect

Food and Resources Hunters and gatherers
Gather: berries, fruits, roots, leaves, and koala nuts. Hunt: antelopes, fish, pigs, crabs, shell fish, snails, and collect honey. Garden: beans, fruits, vegetables

Religion/ Beliefs Forest: (Mother) Praise it, and sing to it
Singing: Heals/ helps the forest and them Totemic Spirits-animals whose spirits and characteristics represent the group's unity. Nyama ya mai- who is responsible for any serious water accidents.

Equality/ Labor Hunting: done by both men and women, including children Men: provide labor for village Women: fix necessary items: nets, and hut houses Women also have same equality as men

Trade Trade with: villagers and other groups or bands
Trade: meat, animal hides, and forest goods In exchange receive: wooden goods, iron goods, pots, tobacco, basketry, implements, marijuana, and clothing.

Honey Season Special camp and partake of rituals are set up.
Honey is a necessary part of the Bambuti’s diet during this time/ season. The Bambuti people eat the honey, as well as the larvae and bees in it.
