7 UNIVERSITY PHILOSOPHY The University of Perpetual Help System DALTA believes and invokes Divine Guidance in the betterment of the quality of life through national development and transformation, which are predicated upon the quality of education of its people. Towards this end, the institution is committed to the ideals of teaching, community service, and research, as it nurtures the value of “Helpers of God”, with “Character Building is Nation Building”, as its guiding principle.

It shall provide a venue for the pursuit of excellence in academics, technology and research through community partnership. The University takes the role of a catalyst for human development. It shall inculcate Christian values-Catholic in doctrine, as a way of strengthening the moral fiber of the Filipino-a people who are Helpers of God, proud of their race and prepared for exemplary global participation in the arts, sciences, humanities, and business.

1. To comply with the policies and standards of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) relevant to Hospitality and Tourism Education. 2.To produce competent and globally competitive Hospitality and Tourism Perpetualites who are highly employable within one year after graduation.

18 HRM PROGRAM EDUCATION OBJECTIVES Three to five years upon successful completion of the BS HRM program, the graduates will be supervisors who: 1. apply the knowledge, skills and creativity in planning, marketing and over-all management of various sectors constituting the hospitality industry; 2. contribute to the economic development of the country by engaging in entrepreneurial pursuits;

20 HRM PROGRAM OUTCOMES Upon completion of the BS HRM program, graduates should have acquired the following knowledge, skills, competencies and attitude: a. Apply basic techniques in performing prescribed range of specific functions in the areas of food and beverage, front office, housekeeping operations and other guest service related areas as required in the hospitality industry.

Demonstrate the ability to manage the professional preparation, presentation, and quality food service. d. Work effectively and efficiently in various roles in a variety of dining room environment.

25 TOURISM PROGRAM OUTCOMES Upon completion of the BS Tourism program, graduates should have acquired the following knowledge, skills, competencies and attitude: a. Ability to apply basic skills in performing basic functions in the areas of travel agencies, tour operations, events management, hotels, resort, airlines and other tourism related establishments. b. Mastery of different local and interna- tional destinations and the techniques in promoting them.
