11 The War Begins June 28, 1914: Archduke of Austria, Franz Ferdinand, assassinated by a Serbian nationalist. Austria demands Serbia make up for the crime and prepares military to enforce demands. Germany prepares to support Austria Russia prepares to support Serbia, France & Britain ready to support Russia
