My dear 90-year old aunt recently enrolled in SASH. I am coordinating her care from my home in Virginia. As you can imagine it isn’t easy. However, from the very first phone call to your offices I have been very impressed with the SASH staff. I recently travelled to Vermont with the hope of making my aunt’s home safer for her. Unfortunately, I made my airline reservations before I knew Dorothy Panciera’s schedule and that Dorothy would be unavailable. Jen LaPan kindly explained the situation and Dorothy agreed to meet me and my aunt on her day off. Dorothy and Jen explained to my aunt the necessity and urgency for her to move to one level. Upon leaving Lena’s home, there were hugs for everyone. A strong connection was made in a very short time. Our family has been urging Lena to move downstairs to no avail. It wasn’t until she met your staff did she agree. In addition, Jen suggested that we visit Project Independence on Monday. Jen offered to accompany us. Jen’s presence helped Lena make the decision to try Project Independence as well. We also enrolled Lena in Feast to Home with Jen’s assistance. I never dreamed that I would accomplish so much in the short time I was in Vermont. It would not have been possible without Jen and Dorothy’ kindness and assistance. I left Vermont knowing Lena has programs in place and more importantly Lena has individuals who care about her wellbeing. I continue to be in touch with Jen and I look forward to hearing about her visits with my special aunt. Please extend my sincere appreciation to Jen and Dorothy. Sincerely, Lisa A.
