2 This year’s Move it Boom competition is now live!
Show short animation – 15 secs (NB there is no sound) – the clip runs from the Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust You Tube page, so be aware this may be blocked by the firewall in some schools. The short clip is also available separately to this presentation.

3 What is Move it Boom? Move it Boom is a competition run by Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust for primary schools in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, and we’d you to get involved! It’s all about getting kids off the sofa and having fun being physically active. Move it Boom is completely free for schools to enter, and there are some great prizes on offer, including £1,000 wooden playground equipment, plus tickets, stadium tours and coaching sessions from our sports partners. The competition runs until Friday 29 June. The overall winning school will be announced on Friday 6 July.

4 When you log on to www. healthforkids. co
When you log on to this is what you’ll see. (NB If you are redirected to the Health for Kids homepage, you can also access the site here: leicester.moveitboom.co.uk) As it explains, we’ve got a batch of robots that need upgrading and we need your help. Every time you do something outside school that helps you get physically active, you’ll unlock a new part for your robot and win points for your school.

5 The first time you visit the website, you’ll be asked to join up
The first time you visit the website, you’ll be asked to join up. You need to choose your school name from the drop down list. Then you’ll automatically be given a nickname (username) and password that you’ll need to use every time you login. It’s a good idea to write it down somewhere safe. We’ve sent your teachers some cards you can use to record your username in case you forget it. [The printable login recording cards are in the digital schools pack]

6 Upgrade your robot! This is what your robot will look like at the start of the game. Click on one of the 12 categories to record the activity you’ve been doing. Each time you log an activity, your points score will go up by 100 points. The more you log, the more your robot will change. You’ll be able to log a maximum of 5 activities each day.

7 Stuck for ideas of what to do?
If you want to do some activity but it’s raining outside and your mum and dad haven’t got time to take you swimming or to the park, click on ‘Find an activity’ in the top menu bar. By clicking ‘Go’ it will choose one of the categories for you, and give you ideas for challenges and games that you can easily have a go at on your own or with a friend.

8 Make up your own games and share them with us!
There are lots of film clips on the Move it Boom website featuring primary school children just like you who’ve made up their own games. If you’ve got an idea for a fun game you can play at home with everyday equipment you have lying around, ask your teacher to help you film it and send your demo film to us. All the instructions are on the website. The best ones will be featured on the site, and you could win a tour of the King Power football stadium and tickets to an under 23s match!

9 So, in summary this is what you have to do.
1. Create an account by choosing your school from the drop down list and making a note of your username– write it down safely so you remember it! Then: 2. Move it – get active and have some fun! 3. Track it – come back to the website and record what you’ve done 4. Build it – the more you track, the more developed your robot will become

10 You can check the top ten leaderboard on the website throughout the competition – it will show you where your school is positioned We’re all behind you!
